Astral Projection, anyone?

If you are wandering if Astral Projection is real. From my personal experiences. I will tell you blatantly - Yes..

Introduction

This will be one of many Astral Projection Blogs. I am still nearly a baby taking its first steps in the Astral Realm, but the experiences have been eye opening, and life changing. This blog will more so be about the questions I get asked about Astral Projection. In regards to how it has affected me, I’ll also leave that general for this post, because my entire reality has been affected.. My entire reality..

What is astral projection and how is it different from lucid dreaming?

Astral Projection is essentially our inner energetic bodies, separating from our physical body. When they separate from our body, they then have freedom to traverse the planet, the universe, and dimensions directed by one's intent and inner thoughts..

Lucid Dreaming feels similar, but also very different. Lucid Dreaming also looks different. In Lucid Dreaming you can often alter every aspect of the Reality at the snap of your finger. In Astral Realm the settings seem fixed. Unless you are led to a place that is of your own creation. But most settings seem like they were there before you. Like in order to change the setting you still have to get someone’s permission, because it’s not your “place” unless you create a place, or are in a place that actually is of your own doing..

For example, your guardian angels can't just rearrange your house, or alter your reality without your permission. Why would they do that anyways. That’s not what they’re here for. But it also defies the purpose of this reality. You create your reality. Nobody can alter it for you without your permission..

Even then. When I explore my immediate surroundings, in the Astral dimension, like my home for instance. I can’t exactly just turn my floor into water. The setting is fixed..

Now. The setting of my home on Earth, and the Astral Version do tend to alter from time to time. But they are still “fixed”..

The Astral Realm - like Earth is a place we didn’t construct “on our own”..

To say it more clearly. Lucid Dreaming happens when we are still technically sleeping. But everything that’s happening is still inside our mind. It’s all changeable. We are a “full creator” in a Lucid Dream..

Astral Projection happens when we are awake. And everything that happens is outside of the body. In “fixed” realities. We are still a visitor of the Astral Realm, or a co-creator..

How does the Astral Body Work?

Your energy bodies are guided by Intent. Not movement first. Like how we can instinctually walk as a human without thinking about it. In the Astral we must imply intent in order to move. When I first started moving my astral body I felt drunk. Or like I say. A baby taking its first steps. Because trying to engage our Astral Body like a human body does not work the same, and will not work. We have to have clear intent, and direction with what we want our body to do. Our Astral Body is Energy, not exactly a Physical Vessel..

I have still barely started playing with the Astral Body, but the actual Astral Body is Transparent. It still holds an imprint of our physical body though. Meaning. We can see the outline or shape of our physical body. The imprint of it. Like how Jello takes the shape of the bowl afrer it’s hardened inside. Take it out of the bowl. It still holds the shape of the bowl..

Our Astral body still holds the shape of our physical body. But it is not physical..

It’s amazing to first begin witnessing your Astral Body. Since it is not physical. You can stick your arms and legs through things - even your own body… You heard me right. You can stick your hands through your hands, and the rest of your body - like a ghost..

The Astral Body is tricky. To me it has density. To me it feels like the soul, but may only be a piece of it still. It can stand on physical objects, but also pass through objects. One time I fell through concrete for maybe 50 feet. Was just falling. But I can also stand on concrete. This goes back to intent. I think in order to stand on things. You have to have the intent to stand on it. If you don’t have the intent to stand on it - our subconscious intent must be to fall through it..

The Astral Body defies the laws of physics. It can float. Fly. Levitate. Hold unhuman positions in mid air. Teleport. Expand. Shrink.

As I’ve said. I am still a baby in this Astral Reality. I will make blogs about my experiences as they unfold, but according to the research I've done so far. It seems that truly anything is possible in the Astral Realm. Anything is possible in the Earth Realm also, but knowing that the Astral Realm is not physical. Things manifest, and manipulate at the flip of a switch, or immediately if we allow it to

Are you conscious during astral travel?

To keep it simple. Yes. And you have to be “awake”. But this may be one of the most experiential realizations I've had because of astral traveling. As humans, we think consciousness exists in our brain. At this point, I don't really know what the brain is for besides to move our human body. I don't really know, right. I'm just kind of rambling right now. But you will see that when you go astral that you are consciousness. Or I shall say, yes, you are fully conscious. Consciousness exists in your energy body. Like, think about God, right? God does not have a brain. God is consciousness. God does not need a brain in order to operate. God does not need a brain in order to hold memory. So I feel like memory is held within your energy bodies. Because when I separate from my energy bodies, I'm still aware of the person who I play, the character, who I am, who is Christopher. I'm aware of the experiences I've had as a human being. I'm aware of “who I am”. So, yes, you are conscious. If anything, you're kind of more conscious because the human aspects of you are pushed to the side. The human aspects of you that limit you, are pushed to the side. So, yes, you're not sleep. You are fully awake and you are fully conscious and capable of making decisions, capable of creating intent, capable of having emotions. But it's just such a more vivid experience than being human. I feel like our human mind muddies our consciousness. So when we separate from our body, we see how vivid consciousness is and how tangible it is. We see how limiting humanly, and earthly constructs are.

How do I know it's real and not just imagination?

Well, as a human being who's been alive for 33 years, I know when I'm imagining things. Imagination. Depending on how vivid your imagination is, it's pretty faint. I mean, you close your eyes and you can think of visuals and you can technically live in a different dimension from your imagination, but it is not as vivid as real life. Real life is vivid, right? You see things, touch things, smell things, feel things, hear things. You live your entire life through your senses. And your senses are more tangible compared to living in your mind. Astral projection is just as vivid as real life. It’s a different form of life. I can clearly distinguish the difference between when I’m imagining or daydreaming behind my closed human eye lids versus - Being in a completely different dimension, separated from my body and experiencing myself as pure energy and light and traveling and traversing the universes and dimensions as consciousness. There's a clear difference. If one can not distinguish the difference. That is an “issue”, and you probably shouldn't astral project in my opinion..

What does it feel like to leave your body?

The feeling of leaving your body is a feeling that you've never felt before. It doesn't really amount to anything and it's incomparable to anything. It's something that you have to experience. And I feel like we would all describe it differently, but it feels like nothing you've ever felt before. So I'll try to describe it as best as I can. If you would imagine your soul leaving your body, it feels like that. Like if you died in the most peaceful way possible. It probably feels like that. Whatever the feeling of taking your last breath and your soul leaving your body is what it probably feels like. I would imagine - I haven’t physically died this life before, but I'd imagine that's what it would feel like. I guess, right?

There's like this magnetic shift that you feel. An untethering from density. It's like, to put it more humanly, it's like if you have been wearing a tight pair of shoes all day and then you take the pair of shoes off and then your feet can breathe. So it's technically the same, right? We've been wearing this flesh our entire life. When the energy body steps out of it, it's like we took a pair of tight ass clothes off, and we're taking that big deep breath of fresh air. And in the midst of taking the shoe or the clothes off, there's some snugging, and some squeezing that takes place. But once you alter your body and get it past a certain point, it just slips out and it's like a breath of fresh air.

It's like peacefully dying again, and again. Or it's like feeling alive, then becoming more alive..

Consciously dying with the capability to easily return..

Is astral projection dangerous? Can you get stuck?

So, like I said, I'm still new to this astral projection stuff, but I don't believe that you can get stuck unless you decide to get stuck, or unless you start having an experience where you're flooded with emotion. If you don't snap back to your body, but you let a situation get out of hand, it might be more difficult to come back to your body. But I don't believe you can fully get stuck unless you allow yourself to get stuck. I've had a couple experiences where it was a little difficult coming back. And I had to repeatedly keep telling and commanding myself to go back to my body. And I've had times where I was in a very odd situation. And the second I said “go back to your body”, I came back instantaneously..

So every situation is different. And then coming back to your body also might feel different every single time. I've had times where coming back inside my body was a little bit uncomfortable. And I've had times where coming back into my body was very easy and smooth. I just literally opened my human eyes and I was back in it.

I will say - that once you start astral projecting - you start opening yourself to energies, thoughts and experiences that alter you as a Being. Does that sound dangerous to you?

You have to live more consciously. Lower vibrational beings may become more attracted to you. You not only have to be conscious of the war within yourself on Earth, but also of the war within yourself in the astral - and in higher vibrational dimensions..

If that sounds “dangerous” to you. Leave it alone..

Waking up everyday is technically dangerous. Going to work everyday is dangerous. Driving a car is dangerous. Why not make life more interesting by Astral Projecting?

You are an infinite source of life. You technically can’t get harmed anyways. Just consciously altered - lol..

Do you see your body when you project?

So it depends on how you project. Lately I've been experimenting with just teleporting to whatever place or dimension I want to go to, or to a place on Earth because I find it easier to be inside my body and have the intent to just appear in a place that I want to appear in.

If you do it like that, then no, you don't see your body. You're in a different dimension. Your body is on Earth. But there's also a way to project to where you just simply “step out” of your body. You can see your body like that. So every now and then I'll kind of just step out of my body if I ever want to…  just… play around with my energetic body or in my immediate surroundings.

First of all, our intent has to be clear to do that. Our intent has to be very clear because we can step out of our body and enter a different dimension unintentionally. So our intent has to be very clear. But yeah, I have times of when I just want to step out, literally right in front of me and just play around with my energetic body in whatever setting that's around me. Yea, you can see your body that way, your physical body. If you remain in the place where your physical body is. Yes. You can see your body..

So it just depends on how you project. You've got methods of where you can step outside your body into your immediate environment and your body's still there. You've got methods to where you can just teleport to where you want to go to, and your body won't be there. And then you've got a methods where you can hover around and then fly away. So it just depends on the method..

What time of day is best for projection?

I don't really think it matters what time of day. I think it kind of matters more so on like your state of mind. I like to project right before I go to bed. I don't want to be too sleepy because then I'll just fall asleep. But I like to be in a place to where I know my body can relax. But I personally want it to be at the end of the day. Because of my schedule. There's only been a few times when I've tried right after I woke up. Doesn't really work for me too good. I have to be somewhat sleepy in order to project..

I do want to practice being completely awake, and fully rested. but I just feel like when it's in the middle of the day, and if I'm not somewhat sleepy, my body is not going to relax enough for me to step out of it. So the time of day does not matter. But where you are psychologically and in your cycle of awakeness does matter.

Do you need to believe in astral projection for it to happen?

For the most part, yes. If you're trying to purposefully do it, yeah, you need to believe in it. I would think so. Right, because how are you going to make yourself do something that you don't believe in?

But for it to accidentally happen? No, you don't need to believe in it..

But the chances of it accidentally happening often are slim to none..

What are the signs that projection is about to happen?

So about this question. Projection doesn't really happen on its own. It does, but you, you have to allow it. It's a process of co-creation between happening and allowing. You have to put some intent into it.

My biggest sign is when after my body goes through the initial steps that I've listed above. Nearly or completely paralyzed, and I can start to see through my human eyelids - whenever my human eyes are closed. Once I'm able to see the room with my eyes closed and my body is fully paralyzed, I know that I'm fully able to step out of my body or teleport somewhere.

Technique & Exploration

Once you know your body is fully put to sleep. Try one of these methods below

1. Rope Technique

  • Visualize yourself grabbing and climbing an invisible rope hanging above you.

  • Focus all your mental effort on the feeling of pulling yourself up.

  • This strong imagined motion triggers astral separation.

(Popularized by Robert Bruce.)

2. Roll-Out (Log Roll) Technique

  • Visualize yourself gently rolling out of your physical body sideways, like rolling off a bed.

  • Works best when your body is heavily relaxed but your mind is awake.

3. Floating or Levitation Technique

  • Imagine yourself floating up and out of your body, like a balloon rising.

  • Focus on the lightness, the feeling of drifting upwards without effort.

4. Target Technique

  • Before projecting, visualize a target location in detail (e.g., another room, a tree outside).

  • After reaching vibrational state, focus entirely on appearing at that location, letting yourself be pulled there.

5. The Swing Technique

  • Visualize yourself swinging back and forth, like lying in a hammock.

  • The rhythmic movement helps loosen the astral body from the physical anchor.

6. The Awareness Hands Technique

  • While deeply relaxed, imagine your astral hands moving independently of your physical hands.

  • Try touching your face, chest, or feeling the air.

  • Once you can move them freely, separation often follows naturally.

7. Visualization of Spiraling or Spinning

  • Imagine yourself spinning like a slow spiral or turning in circles.

  • The sense of disorientation helps loosen the astral form from the physical one.

8. Separation by Sudden Movement (Intentional "Jump")

  • After reaching deep relaxation, imagine suddenly leaping, standing, or jumping up energetically.

  • This mental "shock" can jolt the astral body free.

9. Watching Hypnagogic Imagery

  • Instead of moving the astral body, simply observe the visuals, sounds, and sensations of the hypnagogic state until it pulls you out naturally into the astral.

10. Vibrational Focus Method

  • Once you feel the vibrational state (buzzing, tingling), intensify the vibrations through focus and relaxation.

  • Then mentally "slip" or "surf" the vibrations out of the body.

What are the stages of projection?

I want us to keep in mind. That some of these steps don’t have to actually occur. Some of these things can even happen all together. For me. It’s gotten to a point where if I’m in the correct headspace before projecting - I can be in waking stage, and 15 minutes later I jump to Astral Activation.. So it seems like all the symptoms are rapidly occurring at once.. Not all happening separately.. Or most of these things don’t occur anymore..

Waking stage

  • Our natural state of being when awake through out the day. All senses active

Relaxation

  • Resting. Moving from mental activity - to observation of body, observation of mind, becoming awareness. Allowance. Beingness. Opening yourself to deeper transitions. Letting go..

  • During this relaxation period. Your body will also cause mild irritative sensations to see if the brain is actually sleep. Your body and brain are use to falling asleep together. But our body is just a puppet to the brain. Its a puppet to consciousness. The body wants to be sure the brain is also going to sleep with it.

  • The body thinks. “If the brain is not sleep, I can’t sleep either”. You may want to scratch. Turn on your side occasionally. But doing this prolongs your relaxation period. When you don’t react to your body’s inclinations of “checking to see if we are actually going to sleep”. This confirms to it that we are indeed going to sleep..

  • Then your body will start to fall asleep. That’s when things get “awesomely weird”

Hypnogogia (Onset)

  • Hypnogogia is another term for Sleep Paralysis. Sounds a lot better too huh. Less scary coincidentally. I’ll save that for another time.

  • Anyways. Extrasensory perception will start to kick in. You may start hearing voices. Hearing sounds that aren’t within your actual surroundings. This alone can feel like a doorway to “the other side”. It’s beginning to crack open. Surges of electricity, or energy may run through you. You may start seeing things early..

Hypnogogia / “Sleep Paralysis”

  • At this point you have technically crossed over. This is when I consider we have officially crossed over. When the body is completely numb. Heavy. We may still feel physical sensations. But if you try to move slightly, and you can’t move. Bye bye body. Hello Astral. You may also see, or feel actual spirits around you. Have deeply immersed visions. Just to remind you. Your body is sleep. In this part of reality. There is no more talking. (A majority of the time). I will explain later, but it’s mainly all telepathy, and intent from here on out.

Astral Activation

  • Choose your method of separation, or travel. I usually either teleport directly from here with my intent. Or I casually float, step, sit, or roll out of my body. Remember. Intent. Conscious control. Most of this astral stuff is several conscious commands happening all at once. Unlike using our human body, that can mindlessly walk itself anywhere.

When do I personally know when I'm ready to leave my body? (This can work for everyone)

Short answer: When I can see through my closed, human, eyelids.

Why I say this, and what this means. Of course in our normal waking state. We can not see through our human eye lids. But if you think about the Astral, and Etheric body that lay within the human body. They have senses. They technically have the same senses as the human body. The bodies just aren’t “physical”, but they can still see. The doorway to Astral Projection is shutting down the human body. Or allowing it to go to sleep while your human brain stays awake. At least that’s what we think..

So if you imagine. Your human eyes going to sleep. But then your bodies within remaining awake. They override your human senses. Meaning your Astral, and Etheric body will loosen, and start to peak through your human eye lids. Giving you the sense of “looking through your closed, human, eye lids”

To me. It’s the perfect confirmation to know that you have fully shifted bodies, and are ready to explore the Astral, and Etheric reality..

I’ve noticed. There are times when I try to separate beforehand. Sometimes I can’t fully detach from my physical body. Or I may teleport somewhere, and also take my Etheric body with me. The Etheric body is the more ghost-like, semi-physical version of you. Still visible to the naked human eye..

So this means. If I astral project without being completely separated from my human body. I can still accidentally take the semi-physical, semi-visible version of myself to another location, and still be seen by other humans. After my 5th or 10th time of this occurring, and observing actual humans witnessing me, reacting to me appearing, and disappearing. I figured this is what was occurring..

How do you deal with fear during projection?

Honestly. I believe a degree of fear must be dealt with beforehand..

Why? If you’re more scared of the roller coaster, then curious about it. The fear you may experience could ruin your belief behind astral projection, and can also alter your experience in general..

As I've said before. The Non physical astral realm works faster than the physical Earth realm. If you bring fear into it. You will attract experiences, and beings that may instill more fear into you..

I believe there has to be a level of awareness where you can recognize fear. Not react. And then recenter yourself all in the moment. I’ve seen some things where I could have reacted from fear. But then if I would have reacted. I could have shortened the experience. Disrupted a divine occurrence, even if i can’t understand why it occurred (even presently)

When we travel the astral dimension. This is truly living “life on the edge”. We are traveling beyond human senses. Human comprehension. If we are someone who is too afraid to walk into a gathering alone, or sit in the forest alone. Or find false security in Earthly things. The astral realm will spit you out, or it could feast on your fear. Depends on who you are, and how you mentally react to fear while human..

So. Deal with fear beforehand. Know that nothing can harm you. Know that you can not be destroyed, nor die. You are eternal. When you tangibly feel this. More often than not. You should feel confident in traversing the Astral realm with no fear..

If fear does arise. Pause. Do not react. Neutralize yourself. Talk to yourself. Be calm. Breathe. Relax. Allow..

What helps deepen the projection once you’re out?

Staying present where you are. If you just stepped out of your body, and into your immediate surroundings. Observing your astral body will definitely help stabilize the reality. If you appeared somewhere else. Observing your surroundings will help solidify the environment, along with looking at your astral body. I honestly forget to look at my astral body quite often. I always tend to focus on my immediate surroundings..

Breathe? Look around. Observe. Don’t react sporadically. Take the reality in..

Depending on how you appeared somewhere. The reality may have to form around you. It could take a sec. Just enjoy the ride. Don’t act like a child in a rush..

Remember. The astral dimension is also watching you. It reacts to you. The beings, the spaces, the people, the spirits, the rooms, the energy. Let it all take shape

Can you visit real people or places?

Yes. I believe I have made contact with people. I have appeared in random peoples homes. My astral journey has been more intentful, and deeper though. I plan on going to more places on Earth that actually interest me. I may have been to a buddhist temple that was on Earth, or maybe in the astral world. But I believe it was on Earth. Would be cool if I came across it in my actual body sometime too..

Astral Travel isn’t just for the Astral Dimension. It’s for Earth as well. Of course it may look a bit different. Things always seem to be altered. I have yet to continually test visiting places on Earth to see if things aren’t consistent with the way they appear in actual reality..

Can you talk to spirits, guides, or loved ones?

Yes. You can talk to loved ones that have crossed over. I met my grandpa for the first time. I never met him on Earth, but I met him in the astral world. He led me to a house that was filled with other spirits that were either passing through, stuck, or “living” there for however long

Technically, he has also been a guide my entire life, or majority of it without me recognizing. I have yet to meet guides that are otherworldly. I just started coming across beings that are other worldly..

I have visited my dog, Thor, a handful of times now. He passed away many years ago. The first time I saw him in the astral - he was in a sunny grass field all by himself. Excited as could be. And he looked like he did when he was a small puppy..

One time I saw him in a house with 2 other dogs. He was about the age he was before passing. Fully grown. Both of the other dogs were the astral version of dogs still alive today!? So that was interesting. Would love to see my great grandma. I will do so soon..

I’ve came across people I still have yet to fully address, and know what kind of role they play in my life..

I’ve met archetypal spirits and beings. It’s truly infinite once you cross over..

Can you help people or animals through the astral?

Yes. I’ve been trying to look for my girlfriend's lost cat. I believe I have tracked down the house. Just haven't found an address yet. Like I said. Our intent controls our travel. So if we desire to connect with someone who could be lost, or needs healing. Etc. When we think of them, our intent leads us to them. If we are wanting to be led to them.

How can I start having astral experiences myself?

1. Understand: Astral Projection is Natural

  • You already project unconsciously every night during deep sleep and dreaming.

  • Astral projection is simply learning to bring conscious awareness into what is already happening naturally.

  • You don’t have to "create" astral projection — you have to relax, allow, and remember.

Key Insight:

If you can dream, you already have the doorway. You simply have to walk through it awake.

2. Shift the Belief System First

  • Many people unconsciously block astral experiences because of deep beliefs like:

    • "I can't do this."

    • "This is dangerous."

    • "Only special people can astral project."

Replace old beliefs with affirmations:

  • "Astral projection is natural and safe for me."

  • "I trust my soul to guide me."

  • "I am open and ready for conscious exploration."

3. Create the Right Conditions for Projection

Condition / Why It's Important

Deep physical relaxation / Allows the body to fall asleep while mind stays awake.

Mental calmness / Prevents excitement, fear, and overthinking from pulling you back.

Consistent practice / Builds the subtle skillsets needed for separation.

Clear intention / Guides your experience instead of random drifting.

4. Simple Steps to Begin Practicing Astral Projection

Step 1: Set Your Intention Daily

  • Before sleep, affirm your desire:
"Tonight, I remain conscious as my body sleeps."

Step 2: Practice Deep Relaxation Techniques

  • Body scan meditation (progressively relaxing each part of the body).

  • Breathing exercises (slow, rhythmic, calming).

Step 3: Enter Hypnagogic State Consciously

  • Allow yourself to drift into the "in-between" space between waking and sleep.

  • Watch visuals, sounds, or sensations without getting emotionally involved.

Step 4: Choose a Projection Technique That Resonates

  • (Rope, Roll-Out, Floating, Visualization — whichever feels natural.)

Step 5: Stay Calm as the Vibrations or Signs Appear

  • Expect and welcome:

    • Vibrations.

    • Buzzing.

    • Tingling.

    • Feeling of floating or rocking.

Step 6: Separate Gently When Ready

  • Use visualization, imagined movement, or simply "rise" out without force.

5. Practical Tips for Beginners

  • Start with Afternoon Naps or Early Morning Sessions, or evening periods before going to sleep

    • Natural low-energy times are easier for conscious projection, you just may want to avoid (when you’re too tired).

  • Keep a Dream and Hypnagogic Journal

    • Writing down subtle sensations trains your brain to become more aware of shifts.

  • Use Binaural Beats or Isochronic Tones (Optional)

    • Audio tools tuned to theta or delta frequencies can aid in entering the right brainwave state.

  • Don’t Rush

    • Some people project early, others take months.

    • The journey is about building sensitivity, not forcing an "event."
