Spiritual Growth through Darkness & Transcendence

Transcendence is understanding that we all learn the same lessons through different circumstances. Being Spiritual is believing in a higher power that gives you lessons. But you can believe in a higher power and not incorporate the lessons from this higher power into your Awareness, or Beingness. Being spiritual is making room in your life for a higher power. Transcendence is making room in your life for lessons to evolve your soul. Transcendence is allowing the higher power to guide you, and steer your life for you. You embrace the ride as the higher power steers the wheel.

So at this point, I'm going to stop asking people if they are spiritual, and I'm going to start asking people if they are on a path of ascension or transcendence. The reason why I'm going to stop asking people if they're spiritual or not, is because everybody's got so many different definitions for being spiritual. You've got surface level spirituality, which is “I sage my house, therefore I'm spiritual.” And you've got new age spirituality, which is “everything is light, love and peace. I don't need to crawl through the depths of the shadows and darkness in order to grow, because there's no such thing as darkness,” spirituality. And then there's the level of spirituality where people can really seem to get it right. It really seems like they're on a path of ascension and transcendence. But then as soon as sh** stops going their way, they start judging you, pointing fingers at you or, or pathologizing you. They start playing that right and wrong game..

So I'm gonna start asking people if they're on a path of ascension and transcendence because apparently there are two different things. Ascension and transcendence means you are encompassing the light and the dark and you are learning through every single situation in your life. And you are constantly putting yourself in the seat of the observer. Nothing is happening to you, everything is happening for you. You are ascending from egoic primate brainiac, to God level awareness where you are unfazed by anything at a certain point. You may have wants, needs and desires. Soul aligned wants, needs and desires, but still unfazed if none of those come to fruition. Transcendence and ascension, where you question everything constantly and you realize that you know nothing, you even question yourself constantly. Your views, your beliefs. No matter how much information you think you know, you are always questioning everything.

Now when it comes to living spiritually or walking on the path of ascension and transcendence, when I say unfazed, I also want to make it clear that I am very aware that we are “human beings”, or having a human experience and we experience the ebbs and flows of emotions, the constant day to day stimulation of nuance that may cause stress or emotions to fluctuate, but we let it subside or whither away because we don’t hold on to the emotions. We let it all pass, flow through us, but analyze why they went through us in the first place. Did they arise because of an attachment? AN illusion? Past trauma? Why? We are always going to experience the phases and the ups and downs, day to day, month to month, year to year. But the problem with this new age spirituality is that many people are bypassing. It's a lot easier to be like, “oh, all of this over here doesn't exist. It's just all about the love, light and peace. But when you want to acquaint yourself and befriend your lower self and your higher self, the darkness and the light, your frustrations and your peace, you are hyper aware of all the stimulation. And you can almost be too hyper aware. Hyper aware to where you're like, “okay, this person just cut me off. I feel some sort of way about it. Is this a test?” And it's like, “nah, dude, somebody just cut you off, bro. There's billions of people on this planet. Not every second is a test”.

But you, you got these people that'll claim to be spiritual. Then some something abruptive occurs, and they absolutely lose their cool, rub it off, and then go back to light, peace and love. Instead of being like, “man, I just lost my cool. Why did I lose my cool like that? Maybe I have some frustrations or anger issues that I need to confront? Maybe I have some attachments to feeling like I'm the only person on the road, and I'm entitled to not being cut off”.

To summarize this. I’m saying there’s a level of spirituality where people decensitize themselves from their triggers, their shadows, the darkness, and real growth. They are in a perpetual loop of spiritual stagnation. Sweeping the house, but piling all the skeletons in the closet.

I'm going to keep it real with you. I think real transformation happens in the darkness. Think about this. The starting point of life, if you want to quote the Bible, there was darkness, and then God created light, and then God created life, and then all these other creations. But the starting point was darkness. The biggest transformation known to all of man was the creation of life itself. And it possibly started in the darkness, as above, so below. Down here in human reality, there's this aspect of darkness that a lot of us go through if we're not bypassing it. And the darkness is what gives you your medicine, it's what gives you your growth, it’s what gives us our hardest lessons so that we can awaken to who and what you really are, which isn't just the light. It's the light and the dark. It's the yin and yang. Being spiritual nowadays doesn't have any initiations. People claim themselves to be spiritual and don't know anything about the darkness, don't know anything about struggle, don't know anything about turning inside out.

I've been initiated time and time again, and it seems like people want to grade a person on how far they've come by looking at the things that this person has. “Oh, this person has a lot of material things, and is living an abundant life, and they look successful, they must be mentally and spiritually developed”. But time and time again, I come across some of the most woke people and they don't have a single thing to their name, or live very minimally. They are rebuilding their life, and then as soon as they start taking off, some other circumstance happens, and then they're rebuilding their life yet again. They say some of God's strongest warriors have it the hardest. I do believe this, and I also believe they're on a path of ascension and transcendence. They're not just spiritual.

One of my first initiations was going to prison when I was 19 years old. I had my 21st birthday, in prison, away from my family, away from the bars and clubs, in a cage, in a jumpsuit, surrounded by murderers, rapist. That very same place is where I really started to tap into the frequency of God. It's where I really started to tap in to my spiritual essence. Now, of course, the spiritual essence came and went. Evolution is a process. It's not just a steady incline. Sometimes you gotta regress the progress. Sometimes you gotta take two steps back to take four steps forward. So I've lost my sh** about four or five different times now. I am currently rebuilding my life again. I've been fired from four different jobs. I've been arrested three times in my life. I've been through four or five different court cases. I've been in debt, I've been out of debt. I've lived with nothing. I've slept in my car. I've had goals, needs, wants, desires that I wanted to accomplish and fulfill. A lot of it has not come to fruition. A lot of it. I was putting too much ego into it. I've been slapped by the hand of God time and time again to the point to where it's just comical at this point, right? You put somebody else in my shoes, one of these new age spiritual people, they'll want to die. They'd wish their life was over. And then I think about it. There's people that have had harder lives than me. God bless their soul. God bless your soul. I have no idea what you're going through. I have no idea what most people are going through. But the darkness that you've been through is the medicine for your soul, the awakening of your soul. It's cracking open the shell in which your soul resides.

Transcendence is going through the darkness, and not losing your excitement for life. Spirituality is understanding that dark and light exists, but having the ability to avoid the dark. The allowance to remain deep in specific illusions in order to believe that your’e correct about one or many other things. When you're on a path of transcendence, there is no avoiding anything.
